Weight Loss Takes Time







For successful weight loss to occur remember that it takes time to lose weight.  Weight loss plans that promise quick results usually result in weight gains after the initial weight loss. In addition many times you are just losing water weight on those quick weight loss plans.   It took a long time to put it on, and it therefore takes a long time to take it back off.  Change to a healthier diet and lifestyle.  Aim for 1 1/2 to 2 lbs. weight loss per week.  Measure yourself by the small goals you set so you will be sure to succeed.

I totally agree. I am trying to lose 40lbs in 90 days, (from 12/31/2011-03/31/2012). It's looking like I may be a few pounds short however I am succeeding. I guess that's around 0.5 lbs per week. I am posting my progress at weightsolutionsplus.com and am trying to influence as many as I can. After March 31st I plan to start a workout program and start toning and tightening. Again, great blog! Thanks

I've heard many times in many places that you shouldn't live and die simply by the scale and that you should instead plot your daily weight on an average curve that smoothes out the daily fluctuations in weight.

Yes, the scale can show many fluctuations which can be based on water weight. Best to weigh yourself first thing in the morning, same time of day, once per week.

Thanks for your comment! Yes, there are many many weight loss plans and pills out there! I am a believer in eating healthy foods, exercising and cutting down on portion sizes. All foods can fit into a healthy diet, with moderation. Many of the pills on the market are very unsafe. Best to go with healthy food options, tried and true!

Thanks for your nice comment! Remember that the slower the weight loss, the more apt it is to stay off! 1-1 1/2 lbs. per week is usually the recommended amount of time for lasting weight loss success.
