Hi everyone! Today I wanted to let you in on 2 very important natural remedies that may come in handy this winter.
#1 honey. Did you know that honey can be used as a cough suppressant? In a recent study it proved more effective at easing cough and improving sleep in children than even cough suppressants!
What to do? Give 2 tsp. before bedtime. This may work in adults also- the recent study just focused on children.
Warning: Never give any child under age 1 honey due to risk of botulism.
#2: mint tea. Adults: drink peppermint tea after a meal to help with digestion. Peppermint has been shown to help with digestion. Just a warning for GERD (reflux) sufferers- you will want to stay away from anything with peppermint oil since peppermint oil can make GERD symptoms worse.
