What do people who are successful with weight loss say?
One of the things I hear many of them say is "I keep a food journal".
Keeping track and seeing what you eat can be extremely helpful when changing your diet. You can really see what you are eating and why.
Here are some tips:
- Either track food consumed using one of the apps, like Calorie Counter, Calorie Count, My Fitness Pal (see my app recommendations blog), Livestrong (you can also do tracking on their websites)
- Or buy a notebook dedicated to your weight loss tracking if you do not have computer/app access
- Write down everything you eat, I would also recommend rating from 1 to 10 how hungry you are when you eat.
- I recommend the Calorie King book so that you can see how many calories many of the common foods have if you do not have access to any of the online or app programs which also list calories
