![]() Here is my
rundown on coconut oil- we hear so many different things about it.
First of
all, coconut oil is in fact, a saturated fat.
It just happens to be a saturated fat that does not come from animals.
Since we do
not yet know the effects of a plant-based saturated fat on the heart over the long
term, I would advise you to use it
sparingly until more research is conducted.
What we do
have lots of good evidence on, based on many studies is olive oil. The Mediterranean diet has been shown to help many
people with heart disease.
What to
do? If you like coconut oil, use a little bit
sometimes. But for most of your cooking
I would recommend using the more scientifically proven olive oil. Enjoy!
