Yes! Frozen fruits and vegetables are healthy and sometimes healthier than fresh fruits and vegetables. This is because they are picked and then frozen immediately. Fresh fruits can lose more vitamins since they are picked, then transported to a store where they sit on the shelf until purchased and eaten.
Since many of the fresh berries are now out of season and much more expensive you could buy frozen ones. Just try and buy frozen organic berries if possible, since berries are high on the pesticide list.
Some ideas? Snack on frozen peas, frozen strawberries, blueberries and raspberries. They are a great snack for kids as well. You could also thaw them out and put them in some plain Greek yogurt with a little honey or on top of frozen yogurt. Or mix them up in a blender an make a smoothie (see my prior blog post for some great smoothie recipes). Put them in pancakes or muffins.
